CSI Website Strategy & Development
Goals for the redevelopment of the website: add value in membership, recruit new members, and equally promote the products and services that CSI offers.
Christian Schools International Client Profile
With a portfolio of five major services, Christian Schools International and member schools have historically emphasized the value of employee benefits and retirement solutions, despite additional value in the other four service lines.
ddm and CSI partnered over 2017 and 2018 to conduct a communications audit and resulting strategic plan to form the pillars of their 2018 communications plan.
The largest deliverable of this established strategy is the development of a new website. By conducting internal and external market research on the perceived value of a CSI membership, the organization set guiding principles and goals for the redevelopment of the website: add value in membership, recruit new members, and equally promote the products and services that CSI offers.
Presenting each service line as a visual channel of content for users to follow created this value for both existing and prospective members. Reworking their content into organized, digestible, and concise presentation allows CSI to reach their target audience, on all platforms/devices, at the right time.
From a design perspective, CSI desired to stretch their brand principles to deliver a compelling and modern brand identity. Through subtle stock photography, colorful illustrations, and custom photoshoot assets, as well as an expanded color palette – this brand extension thrives in a digital format.
ddm developed several custom modules for the CSI websites, including the development of My CSI, a custom login portal that provides CSI members and non-members with customized dashboards based on their user type.
The My CSI portal offers several features for member schools, including:
- Job posting access
- Staff and school information management
- Exclusive member-only resource library and education materials
Within 3 months of launch, the website averaged one membership conversion per week, an 85% increase from the previous average. Extrapolated over one year, CSI can expect a +50% return on their investment in year one.
Founded in 1920, Christian Schools International was the first national organization to serve Christian schools. From its eight charter members in the US, Christian Schools International has grown into an organization serving hundreds of Christian schools throughout the US, Canada, and the world. CSI offers programs in the areas of accreditation and school improvement, curriculum, employee benefit services, leadership development, and support for school leaders.
