Amway is an entrepreneur-led health and wellness company that is committed to helping people live better, healthier lives across more than 100 markets worldwide. According to Forbes magazine, Amway is among the Top 50 privately held, family-owned companies in the United States. Top-selling brands for Amway are Nutrilite™, Artistry™, and XS™ energy drinks – all sold exclusively by entrepreneurs who are known as Amway Business Owners (ABOs).

Challenge

As a global enterprise, Amway faces the challenge of keeping employees and ABOs informed about company performance, updated on product innovations, and aligned on current strategic initiatives. One of the ways Amway accomplishes this is by producing a Global Impact Report, which is shared out annually.

The ddm team was asked by Amway to combine their media guide, CSR Report and annual sales announcement into one “source of truth” document. The assignment required compiling information, data, and visual assets from various internal resources and stakeholders, including finance, human resources, R&D, and sales. Once collected, the ddm team created a compelling story that clearly communicated the current state of the company.

The ddm team was imbedded with the Amway Global Communications + Reputation team and tasked with curating narratives that would best resonate with the intended audiences. ddm assessed the content and developed a centralized theme that was used as a woven mantra throughout the report. Content provided by various Amway stakeholders was edited by ddm to ensure brand consistency and tone of voice. For the key financial information, ddm designed charts, graphs, and diagrams, which were easy to comprehend and follow. 

Results

The Global Impact Report was enthusiastically received in all Amway markets. So much so, that a companion PowerPoint presentation, short-form video, and executive summary PDF were requested and developed by ddm.

ddm is currently working with Amway on strategy and concept development for the 2022 Global Impact Report, which will be shared out in early 2023.
